CINEMA 58 is an MSX repurposed lens designed to create simply amazing looks that aren’t achievable with “Standard” off the shelf lenses.
The optics are coated with various colours which under bright conditions activate coloured flares similar to how a film camera would cause light leaks. Users also have the benefit of utilising two different flare coatings which give two distinctive coloured flares depending how light hits the optical elements. We are able to pack four colours into a single lens.
Furthermore, we install a patented hand moulded glass Anamorphic Flare Filaments (AFF) which causes beautiful tinted anamorphic streak flares without the need for post-processing or convoluted work flows and equipment. Of course, as with the optical coatings, the AFF can be coated with various colours and create your own unique look. We completely remove the old aperture mechanism and replace it with our own custom Anamorphic (oval) aperture to give you photos and videos a cinematic look.
