Originally released in March 2013 with an almost 2 year hiatus, Cinema 37 has been introduced back in it’s third iteration after requests from Cinema 58 operators.
Cinema 37 is a wide angle lens unlike any other. However Cinema 29 has been re-engineered by and machined by hand. Cinema 37 Production lens is integrated with CNC, Sand casted and 3D printed parts, a result of hybrid engineering techniques.
The optics are coated with various colour which under bright conditions causes coloured flares to activate. We install a patented hand moulded glass Anamorphic Flare Filaments (AFF) which causes beautiful tinted anamorphic flares without the need for post-processing or time consuming work flows. While most flare system “Hack” anamorphic flares by placing filters in front of or behind optical glass, the AFF system works to manipulate the light inside the optical barrel (the way real anamorphics do it) thus creating authentic flares.
“The look the Motion Six’s AFF system cannot be recreated by any anamorphic lenses or filters currently in the markets today. Many imitations have surfaced since we released the original AFF system for the Cinema 58, yet none that produce the same enticing results.
Cinema 37 incorporate FLUDAGTE™ which is a dual aperture mechanism. In addition to the machined aperture, FLUDGATE™, will allow the use of a secondary variable aperture to control the light flow.
Cinema 29 Production lens also features the HYPERFLUD™ Front. The HYPERFLUD™ is designed to maximise the light photons going into the barrel which paired with our optical coatings produces better light performance. This produces supercool optical looks even in low-light situations. The HYPERFLUD™ intensity can be controlled via the secondary variable aperture.
